During the Akeneo Partner Summit in November 2016, Akeneo awarded us the prize for the year’s most innovative project for PIM implementation at Electro Dépôt. A beautiful reward from the software solutions company who recognizes the work done for our client. Quite a lot to be proud of
Electro Dépôt’s need was to bring together all their enriched product information under a single tool in order to provide information to their 3 major channels: web site, store signage (product labels) and the paper catalogue.
Beyond the PIM’s very central place within the Electro Dépôt digital ecosystem, more specifically, it was the development of the signage channel (in-store product labels) that required innovation through extension of the solution’s native functions.
The in-store product labels presented, on the one hand, a very confined display format, with a limited number of lines and displayable characters, and on the other hand, the aggregation (concatenation) of several product properties on one single line. For this second point, we made massive use of Akeneo’s “smart attributes” in order to generate new product properties, adapted to the signage, from simple product properties.
We had to develop a specific module to properly manage the constraints imposed by the label format as well as to co-develop two new types of “smart attributes” with the Akeneo teams.
In the end, these innovative developments enabled our client’s teams to make colossal time savings in the management of the store labels as they are now generated directly from the PIM product information, where before they had to enter everything by hand!
We have known and worked with Akeneo since the very beginning. The story began in August 2013, with our first project conducted on a beta version of the solution. Several months later, we became an official Akeneo partner.
Always working closely with the software solutions company, we have supported numerous clients with their PIM implementation (Cora, DPAM, Artmadis, Conforama Spain, and more) and we continue to develop new channels with them using their Akeneo PIM.
